Open Access Escape Room
We are celebrating the annual Open Access Week aiming to increase the interest in making scientific works, research ideas and other intellectual products freely available for anyone to use, adapt, distribute, translate and share with no or very minimal restrictions. This is not only about cost savings but about the belief that the world’s knowledge is a public good and should be accessible to all.
We will show you how open access has affected our lives and what benefits it has brought to us.
Register now for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Wow, you sly fox =) As I promised, here is your reward: to solve one of the puzzles you will need to know Fibonacci nubmers. Good luck!
This quest is a physical adventure game where you will attempt to solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategies to ‘escape’ the room. We will not lock the room, however, your game will finish when you complete the last task in the last item you unlock.
The game will be linear, meaning once you’ve completed one puzzle and unlocked an item you will get a clue to the next puzzle.
However, you might happen to stumble upon some clues for later puzzles whilst looking around in the room. If you do, it is best if you make a note of what it was and where you found it, then continue with the puzzle you were working on.
You can follow parallel paths if you stumble upon a clue you weren’t meant to find yet, and therefore work on several puzzles at once, but it is easier if you concentrate on one puzzle at a time.
If you get stuck or ask for a clue we will give you a hint with time fee every 15 minutes. This might not make much sense now, but it will soon…
Mechanics:
- The contest is open to all NU students.
- Each team should form five or fewer members (only 2 first teams will participate, so hurry up ).
- Please, be careful and keep your eyes open. Do not miss hints!
- The links below will help you in solving the room:
- The first escapers team with all the completed tasks will be recognized as the winner.
We will contact the first two teams! If you do not get the invitation letter, we are sorry! See you next time!
NOTE: THERE IS REALLY ONE PUZZLE HIDDEN IN THIS TEXT, TRY TO FIND IT AND GET THE FIRST HINT. GOOD LUCK!
