Library InfoLit Race Challenge

Library InfoLit Race Challenge

In an effort to promote the resources and services of the library and to enrich the Information Literacy skills of the students, the Nazarbayev University Library invites all students to the first Library InfoLit Race Challenge on 23 November 2018 (Friday), 2:30pm - 4:30pm with the start line in front of The Main Library (Atrium), Block 5.

Library InfoLit Race Challenge aims to instill to NU students the ability to (1) search and locate the appropriate reliable information; (2) distinguish and evaluate scholarly resources; (3) identify parts of a reference list; and (4) apply and use information with high level of academic integrity and honesty.

Registration is on a first-come, first served basis. We will only select 10 teams for this challenge. We shall close the registration once we reach 10 teams.

Participants will roam around the vicinity of the Main Library to complete specific tasks and will race against competing teams. As the title implies, each team should race with the other teams. The first three teams who will finish the fastest will be declared as winners. The winners will receive prizes.

  • The contest is open to all NU students.
  • Each team should form three members.
  • There will be stations along the race with challenges. Each completed challenge will earn them a clue for the next station. It is important to bring all the clues until the last station. Incomplete clues will not be accepted.
  • The fastest team to finish the race with all the completed tasks will be declared the champion.
