Book Presentation by Dr. Bryan Barber

Book Presentation by Dr. Bryan Barber

The NU Library & the Center for Preparatory Studies are delighted to invite you to a book presentation entitled, “Japan’s Relations with Muslim Asia” by Bryan Barber.

Dr. Barber is a Teaching Fellow of Human Geography at Nazarbayev University and he will talk about his new book and present a copy to the library.

This book examines how Japan’s self-proclaimed “values-based” approach to diplomacy across Asia reconciles with a global meta-narrative of Islam spoken in tandem with security and threats. This book showcases a pivotal dynamic in Asian geopolitics that is widely unexplored and provides a framework for analysis useful for both students and foreign policy practitioners.
