The NU Library & NU Graduate School of Education (GSE) are delighted to invite you to a book presentation “БІЛІМГЕ ҚҰШТАРЛЫҚ” by authors Duishon Shamatov and Aigerim Aliaskar. Both authors are faculty members of NU GSE. 

In this book, the authors present their ideas based on many years of research and experience related to educational development.  The book consists of 10 chapters and each chapter is devoted to different aspects of the educational system with strong emphasis on teacher development and well-being. 

The authors argue that teaching is primarily a process that requires creative thought and action. The authors describe the importance of raising teacher status, the support for new teachers and also the role of teachers’ collaborative culture which is one of the main factors influencing the development of the school. The book concludes with a legend “Tas Usta” which demonstrates that attempts to improve and modernize the education system is not a new phenomenon. 

On the contrary, it is an eternal struggle between tradition and change, old and modern, conservatism and reform, and that educators need to constantly reflect on improving education system so that new generation of learners should be able to withstand the obstacles of their time, to move society forward, and for that teachers must be able to think and make decisions on their own and not be afraid to innovate in the education system.
