[NUDisabilityTalks] Do You Want the Situation Like in Kyrgyzstan?

[NUDisabilityTalks] Do You Want the Situation Like in Kyrgyzstan?

The next session of the #NUDisabilityTalks features Dastan Bekeshev, the first disabled MP in Kyrgyzstan, and Vladimir Ganzhela, founder of the non-profit ‘Expert Solutions for the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)’.

Kyrgyzstan lately joined the UN Convention on the Rights of PwDs and, despite its relatively poor economic performance, demonstrated a commitment to realizing the rights of PwDs. This discussion will examine how political agency of Kyrgyz disability communities impacts legal and socioeconomic landscapes around PwDs, look at the ways they build a dialogue between the government and civil society and what Kazakhstan can learn from Kyrgyz Republic.

The language of the event is Russian. Interpretation to English will be provided.
