Making Sense of Evidence: Evidence Synthesis for Literature Reviews (Write-Up)

Making Sense of Evidence: Evidence Synthesis for Literature Reviews (Write-Up)

With many disciplines slowly embracing research synthesis as an integral tool in conducting a literature review not to mention its gaining popularity, understanding how to conduct a literature review systematically requires following a sound method in searching for relevant literature. More than just finding relevant peer-reviewed articles, evidence synthesis requires a careful understanding of the search strategies, ensuring a sound method has been followed in searching for relevant literature. Needless to say, the librarian's involvement in doing systematic literature reviews regardless of discipline has been reported to significantly improve the quality and reproducibility of the literature search (Rethlefsen et al., 2015).

In the Library's continuous effort to support academic, research, and digital scholarship at NU, the Teaching and Learning Support Office is offering a workshop entitled Making Sense of Evidence: Evidence Synthesis for Literature Reviews. This workshop includes a series of lectures and trainings exploring each of the steps in evidence synthesis.

Target Audience: This is intended for graduate students (MA, PhD), early career researchers, and faculty members. It is encouraged that participants attend ALL the workshop dates.
