Academic Publishing Support and Research Integrity: Module 5
This course is specifically designed for a newly established NURA to support researchers, grant administrators, and academic staff in managing the award operations, research dissemination, and ethical publication practices.
This closing module summarizes the key learning points from the course and highlights common mistakes to avoid when supporting grant applicants. A key focus is placed on the responsible use of AI in drafting publications and grant applications. While AI tools can assist in research and writing, the final responsibility for originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance rests with the authors, and AI-generated content must be critically evaluated, not used as a substitute for scholarly authorship. The module also covers NU’s stance on AI use, along with good practice guidelines for incorporating AI in research. Finally, learners are encouraged to maintain ongoing learning to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving research landscape.
