The session is designed as an introduction to the literature review for undergraduate and graduate students beginning a research project. Agenda includes items to develop:

  • understanding the types, purpose, process, and importance of conducting a literature review
  • developing a research question or topic
  • skills to identify, evaluate, and synthesize relevant scholarly sources
  • strategies for effective searching using library databases, organizing references, and avoiding common pitfalls.
