[SSH] Information Literacy Module 2-3: Searching & Evaluating Information (Intermediate)

This session is organized for the WCS150 (10L): Rhetoric and Composition class of Adam Hefty.

At the end of the session, the students are expected to:.

  • Understand different types of information and when to use them;
  • Identify where to find scientific information;
  • Apply literature search strategies and keyword building; 
  • Manage and explore the library portal and databases and understand subject-specific databases.
  • Understand the importance of evaluating information sources;
  • Apply various evaluation methods;
  • Determine scholarly sources including statistical data as relevant results for your research.

Venue is Room 6.402.
